MY FOUNDATION ROUTINE

Happy Monday!

Sometimes it’s hard to narrow down a simple yet effective face routine without including a lot of products. This lightweight, skin-like base is what I do whenever I need a long lasting yet enhancing makeup look for for the day ahead!

I love cutting time and using multitasking products that can work for different things, such as my all-time favourite Sleek Bronze Block (what I use for bronzer) the little bit of pink mixed in with the warm tones create a beautiful soft eyeshadow look! No need to reach for a palette. As well as Olay’s 2 in 1 primer that can double as a moisturizer, I have combination to oily skin and I’ve found that this works perfectly for me when on the go.

Products Used:

  1. *Olay 2 in 1 Firm and Lift Primer
  2. *L’Oréal True Match Foundation 8N Cappuccino
  3. *MAC Select Cover Up Concealer, NW45 – Applied and blended in the corners of my under-eyes (a little goes a long way)
  4. *RCMA No-Color PowderTo set the centre of my face
  5. *L’Oréal True Match Powder – Tapped lightly to brighten underneath my eyes, nose, and forehead
  6. *Sleek Bronze Block, Dark – To add warmth to the skin
  7. *E.L.F Baked Highlighter, Blush Gems – Applied a small amount on the tops of my cheekbones

Perfect amount of products for your makeup bag.

This routine takes me up to 30 minutes though it depends, sometimes I’ll replace my foundation with a bit of concealer or skip the highlighter and bronzer for a no makeup, makeup look.

But all in all, this concludes my current, full foundation routine!

I hope this look gives you a little simple inspo. It’s easy to end up using a bunch of products that more than likely do the same job, best to find what works for you 🙂

EDIT: Hello, Autumn

September is here!

This autumnal inspired editorial showcases this simple corset dress from Zara paired with my thrifted classic cowboy inspired ankle boots by Topshop which are one of my favourite go-to boots for Autumn/Winter months.

Overall this look is quite free-flowing and different compared to my other ones. And even though this edit is in black and white, the makeup is just a simple base with subtle feline cat-eyes, nothing too dramatic.

As we enter a new month I think this is the perfect time to reflect and refresh for autumn. I personally love Autumn/Winter season, it may be because of my love for vintage coats but my point is that there’s something so renewing and shifting as seasons change. Every time it becomes another opportunity to experience and define what’s you.

Me being only 16, I obviously still have a lot of time on my hands to find and develop my style and what suits me but lately I have just been experimenting with the term “less is more”. Not just in style but life in general. This past summer I’ve found myself picking up things I don’t often wear, letting my skin breath a lot more, reading more books with actual interest and focusing on my presence whilst being in the moment.

It’s easy to fall out of touch with yourself and not know what you want. I certainly have had those moments with trends (not just style trends) and in this day and age I think it’s important to capture and cherish what really shows your true self, that’s through living I suppose; figuring out what really inspires you and intrigues you. Life in all forms is beautiful and I’ve slowly been embracing that with ease.

Without babbling (like I haven’t already :/)

I hope you all have a lovely September!

LOOK OF THE DAY

Happy Monday! Today I’ve kept my look super casual and neutral. Since Autumn is just around the corner, I thought this look would be perfect for transitioning into the cooler months. My favourite piece that stood out to me in this outfit is this one shoulder top from Zara, I picked this up in the sales after my Mother convinced me it would be perfect for cooler months, and she was right! *Pretends to be shocked* but jokes aside this top is lightweight, breathable, comfy and easy to through on. The fact that it’s black is a plus since it’s versatile and can be paired with jackets as we’re coming into autumn.

OUTFIT & SHOES: ZARA

Thanks for stopping by The Belper.

Hope you all have a great week!

Lots of love,

SATURDAY’S LOOK: CASUAL DAY OUT

Happy Weekend!

The Look: I wanted to keep things simple but elevated with a touch of glam by accessorising here and there.

DENIM DRESS: Thrifted

BODYSUIT (worn underneath): ZARA

BOX BAG: ZARA

SNEAKERS: ZARA (On Sale)

NECKLACE: RIVER ISLAND

STUD EARRINGS: ZARA

SUNGLASSES: NEW LOOK

MAKEUP LOOK: Since my outfit was more cool toned, I balanced things out with warm, sun-kissed looking skin. I concealed my smaller blemishes to really give a flawless finish and kept things neutral by applying highlighter before my face powder- I’ve found by doing so, my face gets that ‘glow from within’ look as my makeup wears throughout the day.

Maintaining the warm theme on the lids, I blended a rust-toned colour to add depth (a bronzer works well for this). I then used a dark black/brown eyeshadow as eyeliner to soften and elongate my eyes and topped off with mascara.

Lips: Lastly, I applied a tinted, traditional lipstick (as a base) lined my lips with a brown pencil (to define) and dabbed my concealer on the centre for a beige-nude shade.

Hope this Look Of The Day gives you a little inspo!
Let me know in the comments, what you think of this look.
