MAKEUP LOOK: TWO-TONE EYESHADOW

Greetings, everyone! I hope you’re all well today. **Sighs, followed by face palm** I know I have not been the most consistent with content since before my birthday back in May (btw makeup deets on the yellow look I wore will be uploaded soon). But this time, I promise I’m back on track and here to stay.

Okay – so for this edit, I really wanted to showcase a makeup look that I’ve never really done on my blog before (that’s the goal, Stacy ^-^), which is a two-tone eyeshadow look! Basically two different coloured eyeshadows on each eye. The inspiration drew from a makeup tutorial I watched about a year ago on the amazing makeup artist, JKissa (on YouTube). So this is my rendition of a two-toned eye-look!

I knew I wanted something diffused, with a pale touch of the same colour on the lids, tied together with a graphic wing in the exact same colour (sort of). As for my colour choices, I wasn’t actually sure about which duos to choose from. So I then ended up going for blue and green eyeshadows, complimented with lighter brows, bronzed up skin and glossy lips. Creating this was quite the experiment, but definitely worth the attempt.

I think one of the trickiest parts of creating this look was when I was mapping out the same shapes using different coloured eyeshadows on each eye. Although it took me quite a bit of time, the process was still so much fun and new to me!

I remember whilst I was curating the shadows I wanted for this look, I felt somewhat of a nostalgic wave come over me from the times I’d spend as a child. Searching and testing out different watercolour paints for hours on end – oh the joy. Not much has changed since then. I now have a variety of 30 different powdery swatches on both of my arms in the same colour family, hunting for as many green and blue eyeshadow combos that I can find in my collection.

But this step was actually crucial, only because you want to work with textures that won’t give you a hard time blending, just so you know which shadows work best for you.

PRODUCTS USED:

EYESHADOWS-

Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette

A couple of no-named, [discontinued] single shadows that I barely used, but were still useful.

FOUNDATION- Fenty Beauty Pro Filtr’ in 440

CONCEALER- Fenty Beauty Match Stick in Caramel (under the eyes)

POWDER/BRONZER/BLUSH- Nip & Fab Contour Kit in Dark (such a favourite!)

HIGHLIGHT- Nip & Fab Highlighter in Deep

EYELINER- From Poundland

MASCARA- Primark

LIP GLOSS- any nude/transparent gloss! Primark has great ones, the one I used is by NYC in Pink Sand, however, its unfortunately discontinued.

BROWS: Light brown brow gel by TECHNIC

What I will say is that the two-tone eyeshadow method definitely opened up my eyes to get creative and put together not only different moods with more colour but even different textures, telling the same story on the eyes.

I may be getting ahead of myself, lol, but I’d love to see more renditions of this in the near future! I can totally see this being done in more makeup edits, magazine editorials and in pretty much in general. Just something different…

I’d love to know what you all think of the ‘two-toned’ eye-look in the comments below! Would you try out this look? Have you already done this look? I’m curious, lol.
